I have wanted for some time to manifest a "wood wife", wondering just what she would look like. In a recent workshop with Annie Wahl I had my chance! Her sweet, whimsical and smile-producing nature was undoubtedly inspired by Annie's work. The little wood wife however looked like something was missing, or somebody. Her life-long partner then appeared, to continue to comfort and support her as he always has, no doubt making a joke about anything whenever he can. Together they just seem to emanate Love. I don't want to offend anybody so I am NOT calling the piece "the little wife and her old man", but there they are.... These character bodies are simply soft sculpted over their wire armature with pantyhose! I hope they are the ancestral beginnings of a long line of little woods-folk. I know there are dozens at least, all lined up somewhere just outside the door of my studio waiting impatiently to get in. These are a wedding gift to a very special couple.
