The idea for this sculpture came from the process of creating the portrait of my yoga teacher in Prelude to Crowning. Before the rainbow body was painted, Christina looked at the white figure in awe and said "It looks like a female Buddha." I decided this is a feminine image whose time has come. Thanks to Sanna in CT too for also posing for me before her delivery. It has taken me years to get this idea to manifest. Earlier samples debuted on Mother's Day in Santa Fe 2002. Now the Mamas are finally in production for the third time, being cast from my sculpting in various resins here in Albuquerque, with finished painting by myself. Blessed Be!!
