Willow

These sweet flower fairies don't just sit around dreaming. They are meant to be played with, held, repositioned and talked to. They bring a little magic into each day.

Sculpted heads, hands and feet are cast in Porcelite resin, with an irridescent sheen to their skin. Constructed like a traditional china-head doll, their poseable bodies are sewn of cotton prints, only they are stuffed with nylon pellets, bean-bag style, and their arms and legs are polyfil. They have a life-like casual way of slouching just a bit, but can sit unaided, supported by their wings. In the hand they have a realistic weight. They are about 10 inches tall with a wingspan of about 7 inches.

Faerie clothing consists of petal-like collars and skirts made of sparkle-nylon fabrics, with stitched veins and machine-embroidered edges. Some have little leafy garlands in their hair. Sparkly wings are stitched and pulled around a spring-steel wire armature. They will not be bent out of shape. Wigs are all individually fashioned of mohair and are somewhat comb-able. Each fairie is created to be totally unique. Although AADA member Nancy Cronin has cast my sculpting from the same mold, I paint, wig and dress each differently. They are "one-of-a-kind" in expression, personality, coloring and costume. Custom orders taken.
